All players MUST be over 18 years of age. Underaged players OR characters will be banned without warning. No underage characters roleplayed by anybody for any reason in any manner at any time and in any capacity while on Haven. Roleplaying the presence of underage characters neatly falls into this category.

Unusual backgrounds UBR must be approved by the DM. Nonstandard races (The ones that are not offered in char generation, such as but not restricted to: full or half demons and devils, starting as a half-dragon), connections to higher powers, gender assignments other than the two marked on your char sheet or curses, unusual afflictions all qualify for this. Playing of Vampires, Lycanthropes and just plain animals (talking or not) are not allowed or supported.

No in-game sexual encounter or private RP may continue after an OOC (Out of Character) request to STOP, or sometimes referred to as REDFLAG or SAFEWORD. Please respect others boundaries and if asked to leave alone please do so. IC or OOC harassment will not be tolerated. Redflags are not a tool to be used to boot other players out of a public area for no apparent reason either -- if you have an issue with someone in a public area and they aren't actually doing anything wrong, you should move on yourself or practice some tolerance. OOC comments are generally marked "OOC:", "((" or "//" at the beginning of a line.

When speaking, stay in character... or mark out of character speach with "OOC:", "((" or "//". Emoted text (text describing an in character action) should be surrounded by "*"

Exploitation of any bugs to increase XP or gold will result in that character being stripped of all gold or XP. Flagrant attitude and or repeated abuses around this can result in banning.

Forbidden: PC to PC gifting (or regifting) on same player, Metagaming verbotten, with only the occasional exception where an in game reason can be justified (as approved by DMs), the giving of items and one PC to another PC of the same player is forbidden. This includes (and usually requires) the assistance of a third party to hold said items while the player relogs between characters. After much consideration this is classified by the DMs as Metagaming and an exploit.

No godmodding, griefing, or general ass-hattery. We are here to have fun. (And "I am just playing my char" is no shield.)

To emote (make your character do an animation or sound to express an action or emotion), please right click on yourself and choose "PC Tools". To find others on the server, use the "PC Scry List" custom button under Misc Tab of PC Tools.

Re-creating a character with everything the same except for the name violates the unusual background request requirement (by having a retroactive change in reality following the character around). This especially includes names that differ only by a single character, or the addition of punctuation (such as an apostrophe).

Player vs Player PvP OOC conflict is not allowed, civil behavior between players is mandatory. Character vs Character CvC IC conflict is allowed but restricted. (See CvC link for details.)

Spying is restricted. Short form public okay, private not okay without permission.

Redflagged: Abolitionist Revolts. Its okay to have a char that disapproves of slavery, but in general it's a central theme of the server. Players that want to play that type of character and the powers that be don't want to be harassed by do-gooders. The background is set up where this is accepted behavior and those that disapprove need to tread lightly.

Sleight of Hand is restricted to roleplay use only, and requires OOC consent of the target. Pickpocketing through game mechanics is against the server rules.
