Players sometimes come up with imaginative backgrounds that may require some revision or moderation to fit into the game world. For this we've created the system of submitting the background to staff for review and approval. At first all of these where denied, as too fanciful and world bending but we wanted to allow interesting characters to be played as long as we could find a way to fit them into our world.

Use this to apply to play your character as a nonstandard race, powers, afflictions, heritages, genders, or affiliations.

Legal Jurisdictions and Laws

The Kingdom of Haven is comprised of several jurisdictions.

March of Kortuga and Earldom of Harts are fiefdoms of the Kingdom. Thayan Enclave exists due to a treaty with the Kingdom. Mithuth is an underdark outpost that is tolerated as a trading waypoint with Skullport, and a refuge for those who cannot tolerate the company of goodly folk.

When seeking out a DM, please search for the DM, dm, (DM), tag on their names, such as: DM Telron or (DM) Thell Meynolds. These tags indicate that they are ready to actively assist with whatever trouble or need you may have.

What is Godmodding (or godmodeing)?

Haven frowns mightily on godmodding. This includes RPing that you have mind-powers that can automatically induce thoughts or behaviors in others, that you are the spawn of a god (or are a god yourself, or any portion of a god, or the vessel of a god, or even the chafing dish of a god), or claiming that you are royalty in the town of Haven.

I have a problem with another player killing/attacking/pickpocketing mine repeatedly. What should I do?

If you are in game and wish to pursue it as an RP thread, simply contact the guard. Any guard member will be able to guide you through the in-character RP that follows reporting an attack or kill.

How can I find Haven and start playing?

1. Download and place required files as instructed here:

2. Run Neverwinter Nights 2 by inserting your game disc or running it from the start menu.

3. Select 'Play' from the main menu.

4. Select 'Multiplayer' from the second menu.

5. Click 'Get A New Account' if you do not already have one; this will keep you in the game.

Can you alter my existing bio/hair color/race/alignment/etc.?

No the DMs will not do this. Our policy is to leave all character files unchanged after the character has been created. Certain in game mechanisms are available to allow players to change some of these, alignment at the Brazier of Nine Flames, for example. The brazier will also allow you to delete your char and rebuild (doesn't erase the RP however, please understand this as use this, it's bad RP to have your character to suddenly change with no explanation).

Haven allows allow character races that NWN2 and MotB allows character creation of, without the need for an Unusual Background Request (UBR) nor a Highly Unusual Background Request (HUBR):
