With the recent shifts in the Weave, we have found that a single person can no longer be a Master craftsman of everything. Now we must all specialize to some degree in a specific area.
The Lodge is a place where Grandmasters (Score of 25 Ranks in their area of expertise, be it Armoring, Leatherworking, Farming, Thaumaturgy, Theology, etc) can gather our resources together to help one and other in acquiring customers customers and resources for our crafts. It is also a place to network with others, for those times when cooperation in those harder to master crafts, especially those that require the input of another Grandmasters to complete, is a necessity. (Example: A Master Weaponsmith desiring to make an weapon that requires a Divine Spell)
There will be only one Grandmaster in the Lodge, for each craft at a time, and they will each be allowed protege's in their specialized craft to mentor. These protege's will be groomed through the path of Apprentice (14 or less ranks), Journeyman (15-19 ranks) and Master (20+ Ranks).
Each Grandmaster will be able to appoint their succesor, from their ranks of Masters who qualify (25 Ranks in a specific Craft), when they decide to leave the Lodge or Haven.
It is planned that Grandmasters will have a pool of supplies to pull from to achieve their craft, from the other Grandmasters and members of the Lodge, at wholesale rates.
The Grand Lodge will also be a place to buy raw materials from the adventuring populace, based on a base supply on hand and supply and demand. All members of the Lodge, will be able to post a list of materials desired and prices they are willing to pay for them. Other members, when they locate the said material, will make the purchase for the Lodge member and get it to them.
